What is ninjak weapon?

Ninjas utilized a wide array of weapons, prioritizing stealth, versatility, and effectiveness in close-quarters combat. Here's some information about common ninja weapons:

  • Swords (Katana and Ninjato): While the katana is traditionally associated with samurai, ninjas also used swords. The ninjato is often depicted as a shorter, straighter blade than the katana, possibly for easier concealment and use in tight spaces, although historical evidence for a standardized ninjato is debated.

  • Shuriken (Throwing Stars/Blades): These small, easily concealed throwing weapons came in various shapes and sizes, including star-shaped (shaken) and blade-shaped (bo shuriken) designs. They were used for distraction or as a ranged attack.

  • Kusari-gama (Chain and Sickle): A sickle attached to a length of chain with a weight at the end. The chain could be used to entangle an opponent's weapon or body, while the sickle could be used for striking.

  • Bokken (Wooden Sword): Used primarily for training.

  • Metsubushi (Blinding Powder): A powder, often made of ground pepper, ash, or dirt, used to blind an opponent temporarily, allowing the ninja to escape or attack.

  • Tekko-kagi (Hand Claws): Metal claws worn on the hands, used for climbing, grappling, and as a weapon.

  • Kyoketsu-shoge (Dagger with Hook and Cord): A dagger with a hooked blade attached to a length of cord or rope. It could be used for climbing, entangling, or retrieving objects.
